Case4: AteneaProject – Educational mentoring for youngpeople leavingcare (Catalonia, Spain) Atenea is a project run by the Punt de Referència association aimed at supporting young people who have been in state care (care homes) in their transition to adulthood, particularly in the field of education. At Atenea, a volunteer mentor accompanies the young person throughout the academic year, providing academic support and guidance. Sustainability: The Punt de Referència association has been working with social mentoring for over 20 years. Atenea, launched in 2016, has been integrated as part of a continuous support pathway: many young people leaving care start at Atenea focusing on their studies, then move on to other work or leisure mentoring programmes run by the same organisation. This comprehensive approach increases participant retention and provides long-term consistency. Economic sustainability was leveraged by demonstrating that mentoring reduces school dropout rates in this group, thus obtaining government and foundation support. 23 Evaluación del impacto y sostenibi l idad de la mentoría
