KHEIRON holds its transnational meeting in Madrid to advance intergenerational social mentoring

On 17 June 2025, the consortium of the KHEIRON – Social Mentoring Without Borders project held its second transnational project meeting (TPM) in Madrid, hosted by Fundación AYO with the collaboration of Fundación Siglo22, PARAGON eduTech, and the Goethe-Institut e.V.

The meeting, held at the headquarters of Fundación AYO and the Goethe-Institut, brought together representatives from all partner organisations to review project progress, share experiences, and plan the next steps towards the full implementation of the intergenerational mentoring model in rural European contexts.

During the morning session, Fundación Siglo22 presented the progress of Activity 1, focused on the development of the methodological framework and training modules for mentors. Partners discussed pedagogical aspects, adaptation of content to different local contexts, and the proposed training calendar. Afterwards, PARAGON eduTech shared initial findings from the Greek case study and presented the data collection and analysis methodology, opening a collaborative discussion to ensure alignment between the learning modules and the evidence gathered.

The afternoon sessions, hosted at the Goethe-Institut, focused on Activity 2. Fundación AYO reported on the coordination with schools, local associations, and mentors, while the Goethe-Institut e.V. presented ongoing community and artistic initiatives, highlighting creativity as a tool for inclusion and social cohesion.

The meeting concluded with a review of the deliverables calendar, the allocation of upcoming tasks, and the planning of the next transnational meeting, which will take place in Greece in 2026.

The Madrid meeting strengthened cooperation among partners and reaffirmed the consortium’s shared commitment to building a European network of intergenerational social mentoring, promoting inclusion, equal opportunities, and educational innovation in rural communities across Europe.
