Case2: Generations United’sMentoringPlus (United Kingdom) Mentoring Plus is an intergenerational programme that connects young people at risk of exclusion with adult mentors from the community, with the support of the organisation Generations United. It focuses on personal development and employability for young people, while promoting social participation among older people. Sustainability: The programme has been running for over 10 years and has expanded to several locations. One of the keys to its sustainability has been strong community involvement: local volunteers are constantly joining, many mentors return for multiple cycles, and support has been gained from local governments thanks to the proven results. Impact assessment: Mentoring Plus monitors both qualitative and quantitative metrics. According to a recent internal report, 87% of mentees reported improved self- confidence and communication skills thanks to mentoring, while 94% of mentors said they felt more enriched personally and professionally by being part of the programme. These extraordinarily high percentages reflect a high degree of satisfaction and perceived impact in both groups. Additionally, external evaluations have found improvements in the employability of young participants and in their social integration (increased participation in community activities). The programme documents cases of young people who, after being mentees, returned years later as volunteer mentors, thus consolidating the cycle of sustainability. 21 Evaluación del impacto y sostenibi l idad de la mentoría
