KHEIRON holds its first transnational meeting and officially launches the project

On 18 February 2025, the consortium of the KHEIRON – Social Mentoring without Borders project held its online kick-off meeting, marking the official start of this European initiative funded by the Erasmus+ Programme (KA210-ADU).

The virtual meeting brought together representatives from the four participating organisations: Fundación AYO (Spain, project coordinator), Fundación Siglo22 (Spain), Goethe-Institut e.V. (Germany) and Paragon eduTech (Greece). During the session, participants reviewed the general objectives, work structure and responsibilities of each partner, establishing the foundations for coordination and communication in the coming months.

KHEIRON aims to promote an intergenerational social mentoring programme connecting adult mentors with young people from rural areas, supporting their personal, educational and professional development. The project embraces an innovative approach that combines inclusion, gender equality and social cohesion through learning across generations.

During this first meeting, the consortium presented the two main lines of work:

    • The Methodological Framework for Mentoring, led by Fundación Siglo22, which will include learning modules, explanatory videos and interactive materials.
    • The Implementation and Development of Mentoring Training, coordinated by Fundación AYO, which will put this methodology into practice within rural communities across Europe.

Partners also agreed on the work calendar, dissemination activities, and monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to ensure the quality and impact of the results.

With this initial meeting, KHEIRON begins a process of European collaboration and social innovation aimed at strengthening intergenerational learning opportunities and building a European network of mentors committed to rural development and social inclusion.
